What is it to travel? Why do we, as a people seek out new lands and the unknown? On the surface the answer is fairly simple, to expand. Whether that be to expand in the metaphorical sense, such as in knowledge or wisdom, etc, or to expand in the physical sense like one’s holdings of lands, it would seem that the point of travel is to grow greater than you were.
We, and this time I mean Paige and I, choose to travel for the more metaphorical. We choose to travel to see what the world is really like. We feel that, as a culture, we have only been given glimpses of a world and those glimpses have been curated to tell a specific story, and we don’t believe that story. We see others living in a way that directly contradicts that story and we want to learn what’s really out there.
